Terms & conditions
Last updated: 1 October 2026. Governing law: Ireland.
1. About the service
Match Table is a platform that helps football fans find sports bars showing their match and make table reservations. We act as an intermediary between customers and venue owners. We are not a party to the booking contract between you and the bar.
Match Table facilitates the booking request only. The bar alone decides whether to accept it, and the bar alone is responsible for honouring a confirmed booking. If a bar fails to honour a confirmed booking, that is a matter between you and the bar: contact the bar directly, and let us know at info@match-table.com so we can follow up with the venue.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Match Table. By making a booking you confirm you meet this requirement. Match Table reserves the right to cancel bookings made by users who do not meet the age requirement.
3. Bookings
A booking made on Match Table is a request sent to the venue. It is not confirmed until the venue accepts it. We email you when you send the request and again when the venue confirms or declines it. Only a booking marked as confirmed holds a table for you.
If the venue has not accepted your request one hour before its start time (kickoff, or your chosen arrival time if earlier), the request is cancelled automatically and we tell you. Each venue sets its own cutoff for online bookings, for example two hours before kickoff. After the cutoff you cannot book that match online and should contact the venue directly.
Please book early enough for the venue to reply. Match Table does not guarantee availability, and we are not responsible if a request is declined or not answered in time, or if the venue fails to provide a table it confirmed. You are responsible for arriving at the confirmed time; the venue may release the table if you are late.
4. Cancellations & refunds
Customers may cancel any booking free of charge at any time before the booking start time via the link in their confirmation email. Match Table does not charge customers for bookings. Any deposit or cancellation fee is at the venue's sole discretion and must be agreed directly with the venue.
Because a booking request costs you nothing, EU consumer law's 14-day withdrawal right does not apply to it (Consumer Rights Act 2022, Part 5 applies only to contracts under which a price is paid). In any case, a table reservation tied to a specific match time falls within the leisure and catering exemption from that right (Consumer Rights Act 2022, s.111(q); Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 16(l)). This does not affect your ability to cancel any booking free of charge at any time before its start time, as set out above.
5. Liability
Match Table connects fans with bars. We are not responsible for the experience at the venue, including but not limited to: unavailability of the reserved table, quality of service, food or drink, or match broadcasts.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
6. Acceptable use
You must not make speculative, false, or fraudulent bookings. Repeated no-shows may result in your email being blocked from making future bookings.
7. Reviews and reported content
Only a fan whose booking went ahead can review that bar, once per booking. Reviews must be about your own visit and must not be offensive, false, or spam, or include anyone else's personal details.
Anyone can report a review they believe is illegal or breaks these rules, using the Report button next to it. Tell us why, and leave an email address if you want to hear what we decide. A person, not an automated system, reviews every report. We may hide a review that breaks the law or these rules. If we hide your review or restrict a bar listing, we will tell you why by email and how to ask us to look at it again. You can also write to info@match-table.com.
8. Privacy
Your personal data is processed as described in our privacy policy. By making a booking you acknowledge that your name, email, and optional phone number will be shared with the venue you are booking.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the service or the law changes. We show the date of the latest change at the top of this page. A change never applies to a booking you made before it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you live in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live as well as in the Irish courts.
